XQP modules in the Lunchbox: 570 Mic Preamp, 535 Program EQ, 541 Optical Compressor, 545 Optical Disrupter, 531A Optical De-esser, and DIYRE's Colour Palette.

XQP manufactures a range of 500-series audio modules designed to give the engineer high audio and build quality and ease of use at an affordable price.

Our products are not laden with fancy features that run up the price but don't necessarily mean a lot or that are used only on rare occassions. Rather than expensive, complicated gear with every bell and whistle ever thought of, we prefer equipment that gets results quickly, having what you need for most normal day to day functions.

VACTROLS Not so Extinct

The makers of the VTL5C1 optocoupler used in the 531 Optical De-esser and the 545 Optical Disrupter have given us some cause for concern over the years. One minute they're in production and the next they're not.

Xvive VTL5C1.

Xvive is now making these things, and we've used some with good result. So the eminent death of two of our products is not yet at hand. The world at large can breathe a sigh of relief.

Actually this latest drama has caused us to revisit the idea of rolling our own optos, so things may change again before long.

Gigantic New XQP Factory

In November, 2017 we purchased a 20' shipping container in which to build a small, dedicated XQP factory to reside out on the XQP farm. It's the one on the bottom.

See the factory page for the full construction story.
